SDA Corner is an independent ministry app.
Your privacy matters to us, and we are a ministry, not a data company. We collect only what we need to give you a personal experience, we never sell your information, and we share it only with the service providers that help us run the app, who are listed below.
Last updated: October 2026 · Effective immediately
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your avatar color
- Your reading activity: devotionals read, lessons and guides completed, where you are in the lessons you have started, and badges you earn
- Your daily streak and the date you last opened the app
- Your notification setting, which you can change in your profile
If you turn on notifications, we also receive a device address from your phone’s browser, along with your time zone, so that we can reach your device at the right local time.
If you send us feedback from the app, we receive your message, and your name and email only if you choose to include them.
We do not collect payment information, location data, contacts, or any sensitive personal information.
How we use it
Your information is used to run the app and for nothing else:
- Signing you in and keeping your account secure
- Personalizing your greeting and profile
- Saving your progress, streak, completed lessons, and your place in lessons you have started so they follow you to any device
- Sending your sign-in codes by email
- Sending the notifications you have turned on, such as the morning devotional, a streak reminder, or a new Bible lesson
- Replying to your feedback and questions
- Counting overall usage, as described below
- Making sure each device can add only one Amen to a devotional
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
Signing in without a password
SDA Corner has no passwords. To sign in or create an account, we email a 6-digit code to your address and you type it into the app. Each code works once and expires after 10 minutes. On our servers, codes and your sign-in key are kept only in scrambled (hashed) form, so they cannot be read back.
Your phone keeps a sign-in key so you stay signed in. Logging out or deleting your account removes it from your phone.
Anonymous usage counts
To understand how many people use the app and which parts help them most, the app records simple events such as app opened, devotional opened, lesson opened, video played, prayer opened, and news story opened, along with the title or number of the item.
Each event carries a random code that your phone creates for this purpose. The code is not linked to your name, your email, or your account, and we do not store your IP address with these events. We use these records only to see overall totals.
How we store it
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. It is kept on servers in the United States (us-east-2 region). Your account data is protected by:
- Secured server functions that let your device reach only your own account, using your sign-in key
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transfer
- No public access to your personal information
If you are located in the European Union, by using SDA Corner you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States.
Emails
Emails from us come from hello@sdacorner.com. We send sign-in and sign-up codes and we reply to messages you send us, and we do not send marketing emails or newsletters without your explicit consent.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your phone’s browser gives us a device address that lets us send notifications through your device maker’s push service (Apple, Google, or Mozilla). We store that address and your time zone with your account.
You can turn notifications off at any time with the Phone notifications switch in your profile, or in your device settings (on an iPhone, under Settings, then Notifications, then SDA Corner). Turning them off in your profile removes this phone’s address from our records, and so does logging out or deleting your account.
Local storage & device identifiers
The app uses your device’s local storage to remember your sign-in key, your reading preferences (font, size, and theme), your lesson progress, and a few settings such as whether you have seen a tip.
It also keeps two random codes: a device code, used to count each device’s Amen only once, and a separate code for the anonymous usage counts described above. Neither is linked to any third-party tracking system. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings, which also signs you out, and deleting your account clears them for you.
Age requirement
SDA Corner is intended for users aged 13 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
GDPR & international users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- The right to access, correct, or erase your personal data
- The right to restrict or object to processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@sdacorner.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Our legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you create an account and accept this policy.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
You can delete your account directly from the app under Profile → Account → Delete account. Your account data is permanently removed within 7 days. The anonymous usage counts are not linked to your account, so they stay as overall totals.
News headlines
The News section shows headlines and short summaries from news publishers, with the publisher named next to every story. Our server reads each publisher’s public feed about once an hour and keeps only the headline, the publisher’s own short summary, the link, and the date, for up to 30 days. We do not copy articles or pictures.
Tapping a story shows a preview in the app, and Read the full story opens the publisher’s own website, where their privacy policy applies. We do not send publishers your name or email.
Service providers
SDA Corner uses the following services to run the app, each with its own privacy policy:
- Supabase: database and sign-in (supabase.com/privacy)
- Netlify: app hosting (netlify.com/privacy)
- Brevo: email delivery (brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy)
- Google: backup email delivery through Gmail, fonts, and YouTube video (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Pexels and Picsum: some images are loaded from their servers
- jsDelivr: icon files
- News publishers: the sources named next to each story, whose own websites open when you tap Read the full story
- Apple, Google, and Mozilla push services: delivery of the notifications you turn on
These providers can see technical details such as your IP address when your device connects to them. We do not give them your reading activity. Supabase stores your account data, and Brevo and Google handle your email address only to deliver your codes.

Unsubscribe & notifications
You can opt out at any time:
- Turn off the Phone notifications switch in your profile, or turn notifications off in your device settings under SDA Corner
- For email, write to hello@sdacorner.com and we will stop contacting you
- Delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete account, which removes your account data and stops all communications
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
